Our method
We started from Amazon's bestselling sleep masks, then filtered for genuine mulberry silk and weighed each one on the factors that actually matter: silk grade and momme, real-world light blocking, comfort and strap fit, durability, and price-to-quality. Where a non-silk mask earns a spot (like a contoured blackout pick), we say so plainly. Read the full buying guide.
Alaska Bear
The internet's favorite everyday silk mask — featherlight, breathable, and almost impossibly cheap for real mulberry silk.
Genuine 19-momme mulberry silk on both sides
Feather-light — you forget you're wearing it
Over 30 colors and patterns
Flat (non-contoured) so it presses lightly on lashes
Strap is silk-covered elastic, not the widest

Thick, dense 22-momme grade-6A mulberry silk
Excellent light blocking for a flat mask
Beautiful finishing and packaging
Premium price

MZOONot silk
Not silk — but one of Amazon's best-selling sleep masks for a reason: molded cups built for blackout, with no lash pressure.
Molded eye cups the brand rates for 100% light blocking
Zero pressure on eyes and lashes
Deep cups suit lash extensions and REM movement
Not silk — foam/fabric, warmer against skin

KitschNot silk
A budget satin alternative for shoppers who want the silky feel and pretty prints without the mulberry-silk price.
Very affordable, popular pick
Smooth satin feel that's gentle on hair and skin

Satin (polyester), not natural silk — less breathable
Doesn't regulate temperature like real silk
Our top overall pick is the Alaska Bear Mulberry Silk Sleep Mask. It delivers genuine 19-momme mulberry silk on both sides, weighs almost nothing, and costs a fraction of premium rivals — the best balance of quality and value for most people.
Yes. Mulberry silk is the finest, smoothest, most uniform natural silk available, produced by silkworms fed only mulberry leaves. It's more durable and gentler on skin than cheaper wild (tussah) silk or polyester 'satin' masks.
Momme (mm) measures silk density — higher means thicker, more durable, and better light blocking. For a sleep mask, 19 to 22 momme is the sweet spot. See our momme guide for details.
Mulberry silk is smooth, breathable, hypoallergenic, and naturally resistant to dust mites. It glides over delicate eye skin instead of tugging, helps your night skincare stay on your face, and is gentler than cotton or polyester.
